Changes are inevitable if you want to keep growing. While enjoying the April quarantine, I took the time to reflect on quarter 1. It wasn’t a bad quarter. I got a lot of things marked off my goals list. But there are areas I want to change.
One thing I’m happy about is that Legally Melanated has been relatively consistent. In the first 3 months of the year, there was only one Wednesday nothing was posted on the site. That’s a huge accomplishment because I was so scattered in the previous years. I largely thank Caleb, JentheJD, and Natasha for helping me by writing awesome articles that I think brought value to the readers.
Why Make Changes
One of my goals for Legally Melanated is to grow the brand while offering resources and value to pre-law students, law students, and law graduates. I believe over the year Legally Melanated has offered resources and value to the readers. However, I feel like we can offer more to a broader audience and to do that changes have to be made. I desire Legally Melanated to be more than just a blog but for it to be the go-to place for tips, news, and opinions that are relevant to minorities in the legal field.
New Schedule for the Foreseeable Future
Monday will still offer tips. These will be tips for young professionals in general.
Tuesday will also offer tips. However, these tips will be law focused. They will range from law school tips to practice tips.
Wednesday will be articles about anything. You’ll still hear from me, Caleb, JentheJD, and Natasha to get our perspective on life and the law. I want to get guest posts from other people as well. If you are interested in contributing, contact me here.
Thursday will be an additional post. It’ll mainly be from my viewpoint and what I am doing. The next month and a half will be about my upcoming think week. I will explain more in the introductory post on this Thursday.
Friday we won’t post anything on the site but may host giveaways, Q & A’s, and other things. So be on the lookout for that.
What Is Coming Next?
I know that it seems like a lot of posting and a lot of content, but I truly believe this will help provide resources and value not only to your personal life but to your career. With that being said, this schedule will not last forever. Currently, Legally Melanated is floating around the idea of a podcast and merchandise. A podcast would slow the posting schedule on the site but it would still give you all the resources and value that you need to be successful.
I want to hear from you all. What topics do you want to know about that we haven’t discussed? Contact us here and let us know. Thanks for coming to Legally Melanated. Don’t forget to subscribe to stay up to date on all that we are doing!
